About you

  • Are you an HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist?

  • Do you have a strong streak of creativity, like using your own initiative, good at containing others, a bit rebellious perhaps, or bored with a regular psychologist role?

  • Do you want to be free of bureaucracy, annoying admin and IT issues so you can get on with doing what you do best?

  • Do you enjoy working with great colleagues?

  • Do you really want to make a difference every day and have great fun along the way behind the scenes?

About the role

  • Brief 1:1 sessions to a broad spectrum of clinical presentations, risk levels and severity

  • Longer term therapeutic interventions where appropriate

  • Systemic consultation to managers, HR, teams and organisational leaders on how best to support the emotional and psychological health of their employees at a systemic and individual level

  • Thought provoking interactive workshop events, written articles and blog posts

You will have the ability to effectively deliver:

Would you and Amplify be a good fit?

1. Focus on the team - we support and appreciate each other and carefully consider multiple perspectives from across the team. We do this because we fundamentally believe that our own personal success is contingent on the team and business flourishing

To try and ensure the best possible fit, we have identified 4 ability areas we think are key to thriving in the Amplify culture. We want to hear from you if you can:

2. Prioritise, multitask and adapt - at Amplify you will need to flex, embrace learning and maintain several roles as required

3. Remain calm and focused - we are growing all the time, and we are on an adventure that unfolds new opportunities and challenges. You should be able to (with our support) navigate this and; be willing and able to tolerate sometimes working outside your current comfort zone and to expand your knowledge, skills and practice in line with business needs

4. You can be trusted to take responsibility -  we balance reflection and consideration of perspectives with taking action, making (sometimes challenging) decisions and finding solutions to problems rather than just highlight them

About the services we run

Amplify services focus on ease of access, clinical quality and boutique (i.e., great) service user and clinician experience. Here is an outline of how we do this:

  • An employee (the client) or (with consent) someone else like a team manager or HR professional can refer to Amplify using a simple web form (via a URL or QR code) that takes 2 mins to complete. We screen it immediately for any risk concerns and then the client books themselves into the next convenient appointment slot with one of the team. The booking system automatically scans our calendars to only show current availability. We have very few exclusion criteria so the severity and type of emotional or mental health issue varies considerably from mild anxiety/low mood and relationship problems to addictions, suicidality, trauma and complex emotional and interpersonal difficulties.

  • When individuals need longer term support we provide a concierge-like service and support them to connect to ongoing support as clinically appropriate (e.g., a formal course of therapy accessed via PMI) as part of their recovery journey. In most cases we see clients for only a few sessions, help them to resolve the immediate issue and they are able to self-manage when we close the referral; though we do hold some clients longer in specific circumstances.

  • Our clinicians also consult to Managers, and HR teams on difficult situations and client organisations can access advice and consultation on mental health/wellbeing related issues. Sometimes (with appropriate consents) we facilitate conversations between the employees and manager or HR business partners.

  • In 2023 we will be launching a new service that offers longer term support for specific individuals in specific circumstances to improve access where there are gaps.

Our team is deliberately diverse in therapeutic skill set and clinical speciality; we are not wedded to a particular therapeutic model. However, our help is practical and we aim to address the systemic issues when consulting. We use data dashboards and insights from clinical themes to help our customer organisations to make informed decisions about their employee wellbeing programmes and people strategy

We provide you with easy to use efficient cloud based systems,  and automate where we can to reduce the admin burden on  everyone.

The varied and broad nature of the work means that we welcome Practitioner Psychologists no matter what their previous professional contexts or clinical specialisms. All our Psychologists  must be able to adapt to working within a corporate business environment and they must be  credible to clients and senior leaders.  They have the breadth of knowledge and experience needed to work with a wide range of presentations and needs from a clinical perspective.

There might be occasional travel to a satellite office outside of London, which rarely requires an overnight stay, and your travel and expenses will be covered.

We want you to help us innovate, so you will be involved in co-designing and co-creating our services and the wider  business operations and culture.

Let's navigate mental health
& performance together
